About Us – The Past and the Present
In 1982 we (Geoffrey and Neal Jacobs) bought what was then the Clacton Exhaust Centre. By 1985 we had expanded the business to include the sale and fitting of tyres by becoming one of the first Goodyear approved specialist fitting agencies. By 1990 further expansion was generated by the purchase of Syretts Garage (WA) in the town of Clacton where we could add full garage services to our portfolio of operations. A short time later we added a full vehicle breakdown and recovery service, and began vehicle deliveries to both the UK and Europe. We are ISO 9001.2000 and PAS43 accredited for which we undergo annual audits. We regularly work for the AA, the RAC and all well known insurance companies. We hold large stocks of exhausts, tyres and brakes to fit most well known makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles, and can get stock for other vehicles on a “same day” delivery basis with up to 6 deliveries per day Monday to Saturday. We also wholesale tyres to local garages on a same day service.

At the Clacton Exhausts and Tyres we are Goodyear Run On Flat approved dealers, and receive a yearly audit of working methods to ensure that we are competent to offer this service. Today we offer a full range of “FastFit” services at the Brunel Road depot including Tyres, Run On Flat Tyres, Exhausts and Brakes, and also offer appointment times for those customers who prefer it. At Syretts Garage we offer a full range of garage services including MOT, vehicle servicing and repair, breakdown recovery and “FastFit” tyres and exhausts. At both of our sites we pride ourselves on our customer care and the personal service we deliver, and have built many long standing relationships with our customers, so much so that we are now dealing with many second generation customers.
